Recent Speaking Engagements & Appearances:

4.11.19 – Katelyn joined Valorie Kondos Field on a panel for UCLA’s #WOW “The Wonder of Women” Summit, addressing the topic, “Resilience: Finding Your Joy.”  The annual conference encourages meaningful discussions on topics of interest to women, with a goal to enhance both mental and physical health and inspire the next generation of women leaders. 

5.11.19Pasadena Tournament of Roses #ThisGen2019 – Katelyn was a panelist at the inaugural one-day youth empowerment forum, held at the Pasadena Convention Center.  Designed to engage youth in the Southern California community and empower them for the future, the interactive forum featured a diverse group of speakers and gave the attending high school and college-aged students an opportunity to learn about breaking barriers, overcoming obstacles, and following their passions and dreams.   
 
5.16.19LA Football Club – Katelyn visited the LAFC for their match honoring women in sports, and participated in the half-time ceremony where she and other female athletes were honored.
 
5.24.19We Rise – Katelyn participated in the first ever We Rise Town Hall, greeting teens in attendance, and performing one of her poems, as part of the 10-day pop-up immersive experience.  Through powerful programming, performances, immersive workshops and a world-class art exhibition, We Rise brings together LA’s diverse community to embolden individuals and families to find help, reach out to others and demand systemic change in order to address the critical need for early intervention, treatment and care for mental well being.
 

6.5.19 – Children’s Health Fund Annual Benefit 2019 – Katelyn was honored, among other athletic all-stars for giving of their hearts, voices and support in the name of children and their well-being, at the annual benefit event that honors children’s healthcare supporters and Children’s Health Fund advocates.

6.9.19 – StyleCon Summer Social at South Coast Plaza – Katelyn and her coach, Miss Val, will be participating in the annual beauty and fashion event, speaking on a panel on “Curating Confidence.

6.15.19Mental Health America 2019 Annual Conference – Katelyn will be participating in a sit-down conversation with Holly Rowe, as the closing luncheon speaker at the annual conference in Washington, DC, that brings together affiliates, consumers, providers, family members and advocates from across the country to talk about important and emerging mental health issues.
 
6.22.19PopSugar Playground Festival – Katelyn will be participating in a panel at the NY event with activist Aija Mayrock discussing how to set big goal for yourself and how to achieve them.  The two will discuss how to clear your own path, starting from within.
 
6.25.19 – 4th Annual Hashtag Sports Conference – Katelyn selected as the winner for Best Social Highlight Star for playing s a key role in the engagement ecosystem within sports and showcasing a unique ability to amass audiences in order to create authentic direct-to-fan relationships. 
 
7.10.19 – The 2019 ESPYS! Katelyn WON for “Best Viral Sports Moment” AND “Best Play” at The 26th Annual ESPYS hosted by Tracy Morgan (THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR VOTING!!)
 

8.11.19 – Teen Choice Awards – Katelyn is up for a “Choice Female Athlete” award at the star-studded celebration taking place in Hermosa Beach, CA. (NOTE TO JIM: if you can figure out the voting thing and if there’s still a way to vote, let’s add in a note that says please vote… otherwise, leave it as is)

8.20-8.25.19 – The Aurora Games Festival – Katelyn will be participating in the inaugural event, a first of its kind sports & entertainment festival featuring world class competition in women’s tennis, gymnastics, basketball, figure skating, ice hockey, beach volleyball, taking place in Albany, NY.

8.29.19 – Seattle Seahawks Game – Katelyn will have the honor of raising the 12 Flag prior to kickoff on Thursday, the 29th at CenuryLink Field in Seattle.

9.21.19 – Bustle’s “Rule Breakers” – Katelyn and Miss Val, on behalf of the UCLA Gymnastics Program, will participate in the event that honors women who have broken through barriers this year – in the fields of music, arts, activism.
